An easy way to remember these 5 personality traits is with the acronym O.C.E.A.N. Psychologists divided a person’s personality into these 5 traits to better understand the human psyche.

Openness - Openness is basically short for “openness to experience”. It is a person’s curiosity and openness to new ideas. This is commonly associated with intellect and creativity.
Conscientiousness - Conscientiousness is a person’s industriousness and orderliness. People who are high in this personality trait tend to be more responsible and dependable planners.
Extraversion - Extraversion is sociability, assertiveness, and performance in large crowds. This is commonly associated with energetic and positive people who draw energy from crowds.
Agreeableness - Agreeableness is someone’s empathy, politeness, and helpfulness. It is someone’s ability to understand and respond passionately to other people and one’s kindness.
Neuroticism - Neuroticism is someone’s vulnerability to negative emotions. This is typically associated with things like anxiety, fear, and being easily irritated.
